Sounds menacing. So, along with all of my other wonderful 'ailments' I am also borderline anemic. Hooray! I have been taking prenatal vitamins for some time to get extra iron into my diet. I was at Whole Foods the other day looking for a new prenatal vitamin when a SUPER hippie that worked there approached me and asked if I needed any help. I am calling her super hippie because she had dreads, hemp clothes on from head to toe and I am almost positive that she was holding back some angst because her job required her to wear shoes......moving along.
When I told said hippie that I was looking for another vegan prenatal vitamin she scoffed and informed me that there are NO vegan prenatal vitamins. What the?!? Apparently, almost all mega or prenatal vitamins on the market carry D3 which comes from the oil in sheep's wool. Who in the hell figured that out??? I don' recall sucking on any sheep wool when I was a carny, so I don't quite understand what it is that I am missing here.....
Anyway Helen the Hipster introduced me to this wonderful multivitamin that is gluten free and vegan. It is easy on my belly, so I don't even have to eat prior to taking it. It contains Iron, Folate, Vitamin C and Vitamin B-12.
I am not expecting a mini-me anytime soon, but I did find this website with info on vegan prenatal vitamins if any of y'all are looking! http://www.vegan-momma.com/vegan-prenatal-vitamins.html
